3rd Avenue is a breed of seasoned performers with a common passion for music, friendship, and other worthwhile endeavors. Versatile as they are, they embrace a wide range of music genre, from ballad, pop, top 40’s, to OPM, and many more. Their music has never failed to enchant music lovers who come to see and hear them perform.  

 

Composed of Paolo Ledesma, Joy Reyes, Muriel dela Paz, Alchris Ramirez on vocals; the rhythm section, headed by the group’s musical director, Gino Madrid on guitar; resident arranger, and co-musical director, Migs Nuñez on keys; Gian Yap on bass guitar, Lester Cerda on saxophone; and composer/songwriter, Beng Gatmaitan, on drums. The group started their roots at the De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde as members of the Campus Ministry Office and Coro San Benildo.  

 

Known for their impressive vocal harmony and diverse musical influences, within the group are songwriters, a former HR practitioner, former athlete, former child actor, entrepreneurs, music producers, music arrangers, and session artists. Although each one of them had different career backgrounds, they were bound by their passion for music and their mission of empowering Filipino musicians to live better as professionals.

 

They released their first album, 3rd Avenue – In Time, which was produced by Barnyard Music and distributed by Universal Records Philippines in 2007. In 2008, they received an AWIT Award for Best Performance by A New Group for their 2nd single, “Why Can’t It Be” and became the most sought-after group and a trailblazer in the Philippine Wedding Industry. Because of this, they are dubbed as “The Philippines’ Premier Wedding Band”.

 

In 2019, they performed in front of a sold-out audience for their first-ever major concert entitled 3XV – The Anniversary Concert held at the Music Museum, Greenhills, San Juan. And in 2023, they received an ALIW Award for Best Group Performer.
